    We are proud to announce that Dennis is Dead have premiered their first music video off of the Close To Home EP for the song "The Inner Circle" in conjunction with our friends at BlankTV.com. The video hit YouTube in early January and has reached almost 25,000 plays in just one month, a great success by our standards. The video was filmed by none other than DID drummer Michael Heffernan and he appears as the main villain/douchebag. It's hilarious and you can check it out here

    We are incredibly proud to announce the signing of a great metal band from Union City, CA called Dennis is Dead. These guys have been friends, and playing shows with, The Subtle Way for a while, and now they have become part of the NPR family. We hope to add to the hard work Dennis is Dead have already put into their band with shows all around Northern California and self-release of their first EP "Situation: Dire." Dennis is Dead will be recording a brand new EP this summer for release in fall 2011 that will be leaps and bounds beyond what they have done before. When you hear these new songs, you'll have to pick your jaw up off of the floor and ask yourself, "why the hell have I not been into this band before?" Not only have they joined NPR, but Dennis is Dead will be supported by our booking agency, Hit The Road Booking, and our music publishing company, Common Cause Publishing, so expect to see these boys all over the west coast and hopefully hear a few of their shredders in TV/movies/video games/mall stores/radio soon!     After 5 years, thousands of records and 300+ shows all over the US, The Subtle Way is calling it quits. With the departure of so many members over the past year, the last original member, lead guitarist Marcelo Sedano, has decided that the band in it's current form just isn't The Subtle Way. So, the original members, Jamie, Marcelo, Jason, Chad as well as current member Nay will be playing one last show together on March 4th at the Fremont Teen Center in Fremont, CA. The Subtle Way will be playing songs from their entire repertoire so run, drive, swim or fly to Northern California in time because this show is going to go off!

    The boys of The Subtle Way will be headlining the "Men of The West Tour" all across the west coast this month. This tour features some of the hottest west coast heavy bands around like Casino Madrid from San Diego, A Shattered Hope from San Diego, and Monsters Scare You! from Seattle. It will take T-Sway to some of the coolest venues around and a few towns they've never even been to. This will be their final tour of 2010 so make sure to see this spectacle!

    The "Drag Me To Hell" Tour is over and there are a couple cool videos up on YouTube of T-Sway with temporary members. Well, it turns out that the singer Anthony will be permanently in the band so please welcome him. Upon returning, these rippers got to work recruiting a new bass player in band friend Travis and are still on the look out for a permanent second guitar player. If you think you can keep up with Marcelo, contact them via myspace. Now it's time to plan the next tour! West Coast get ready for the first ever Hit The Road Booking Tour! Called "Men Of The West" this tour is going to feature opening bands: A Shattered Hope from San Diego, Casino Madrid from San Diego and Monsters Scare You! from Seattle and it should be a great one.

    The Subtle Way have completed the first 3 weeks on this long 6 week journey with Destruction of a Rose all over the US. So far the boys have been blowing minds all over the north half of the US and now it's time to go down south. Thanks to kids in the Bay Area, Utah, South Dakota, Illinois, Michigan, New York and Rhode Island for making those some of the best shows on the tour! Not only that but T-Sway's temporary members are kicking ass and taking names, so make sure you check those guys out. You never know you may be seeing future permanent members of the band.

    The Subtle Way are heading out this week on the "Drag Me To Hell Tour" with Destruction of a Rose from Las Vegas. This tour is shaping up to be their best ever. It will be almost 6 weeks long and will hit every region of the US! As T-Sway continues to tour, they continue to grow, so make sure to see them now so you can say you knew them before they were huge. Also, as you may have heard, The Subtle Way have had a few member changes. Singer Jamie, bassist, Chad, and second guitarist, Geoff, decided they didn't want to be touring so much and have left the band--but never fear, T-Sway has found great replacements for this tour (members of Look Alive and This Awakening) and they'll be looking for new permanent members when they get home.

    Unfortunately after many, many years and tours under his belt, singer Jamie Tahirkheli of The Subtle Way has decided to leave the band. Everyone is still friends, no drama. They have toured a lot over the past year and Jamie decided that he wasn't getting what he needed out of the experience. You can read a very nice and thorough explanation from Jamie himself here. We will all miss his intensity and signature front-flips off of the stage.

    The Subtle Way has returned from a successful tour including a few dates with Ice Nine Kills from Boston, MA and off dates with Love Hate Hero, A Hero A Fake, Winds Of Plague. The tour had it's ups and downs, but overall was the best tour T-Sway has gone on yet! This was the first tour they had physical copies of "Thus Far, The Channels Speak" so to everyone who came out to the show and bought copies of the album, a BIG thank you. Look forward to see T-Sway embark on a long summer tour with Destruction of a Rose from Las Vegas.

Sharing the stage with the likes of Dr. Acula, The Irish Front, For The Fallen Dreams, ABACAAB, Maker, Riots of Eighty, and Sea Swallowed Us Whole. Jason Miller has decided to focus on school at UC Riverside and will be missed for his shredding guitar licks, spooky keyboard playing and energetic live performance.     It seems like an eternity, but The Subtle Way are back from their monstrous 6 week full US Tour. The guys were able to meet new friends from every nook and cranny of this great nation and their newfound fans were truly blown away by their insane live show. T-Sway was fortunate enough to play with the likes of Dilinger Escape Plan, A Skylit Drive, Sky Eats Airplane, Breathe Carolina, Emarosa, A Day To Remember, Mae, Hit the Lights and a bunch of rad regional and local bands. Thanks to all of the promoters who put on shows and to all the kids who bought CDs and merch.

    May 1, 2008 - Summer release!

    The Subtle Way will be recording at The Compound in Santa Cruz from June 16-20. Their mission is to record 2 brand new songs and 1 kick ass cover song for a summer digital/vinyl release. Yes, you heard it right. Vinyl isn't common for this style but that makes it that much more special. We will be pressing a limited number of colored vinyl with unique splatters and stuff. Not sure how many colors yet, but there will be a few. The vinyl version will be a collectors item as we are only making 250, so when The Subtle Way get big you can make a fortune on eBay. These songs will be available digitally on iTunes but everyone who buys the vinyl version will also get a digital version for free!

    The Subtle Way will be going on a full US Tour from July 1-August 28th (with a small break in the middle). Although The Subtle Way has been all over the southern half of these great United States, this will be their first visit to the East Coast, the Midwest and the Pacific NorthWest! So for all you kids that have only heard how awesome TSW is live, now you get a chance to see it for yourself. Tell all of your friends and make it a party! And as an added bonus The Subtle Way will be bringing along one or two great regional bands with them to every show. Not only do you get to mosh to TSway, but you learn about some rad bands from your own neighborhood. For all of you too young to know, local bands are good too!

    At loooooong last, we have signed a new band called Down For The Count from Los Angeles. D4TC has had a long relationship with NPR for the past couple years and we thought that it was the right time to team up and take this great band to pop-punk powerhouse status. These guys have toured on their own a number of times and even busted ass following Warped Tour last summer which takes endurance that most people don't have. If you believe we have an ear to find some of the best pop-punk bands around (i.e. Over It, The June Spirit, The Progress, The Goodwill, etc.), D4TC rightfully take their place in that line-up and will far exceed the success of any of our previous bands.     We are excited to announce that The Subtle Way has been selected as the winner of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands to play the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour-stop in San Jose, California!     In hopes of spreading the word about our back catalog, every record we have ever released is now streaming on our website (in the bands section)! Yes, you are not seeing things. And yes, this is an unprecedented thing for a label to do. We are still selling CDs at a low price and all of these tracks are for sale in digital form on iTunes, BUT we figured a good way to get people excited about our older releases was to make it extremely easy to check them out. Over the past 10 years, NPR has made an effort to put out quality releases by some of the best small bands in America and we are even told that many of these releases got people through some tough times and had a large impact on their lives. That being said, the music created by these bands deserves to live on and not fall into obscurity so please take the time to listen to a couple songs, after all, it's free.

    NPR was in the house last night at the Knitting Factory in NYC for the I am The Avalanche/Four Year Strong/Daggermouth show. Daggermouth was amazing. Vocals were tight, drumming was super good. FYS was a bit underwhelming considering the hype, but they were still good. I'd recommend checking them out. IATA were great. Every member of that band was going off.

This is a sad development because the Sacramento office was the home of legendary distributor Mordam Records that Lumberjack purchased a few years ago. Never fear, NPR releases will still be available to all the people who want to get them.

    NPR was in attendance at the Just Surrender CD release show at the Knitting Factory in NYC this weekend. Holy crap, this band is awesome live. If you get a chance to see them, do it. There are so many mediocre bands with mediocre live shows, it is like a breath of fresh air to see a band that is great and you can tell is honestly playing their hearts out. Also make sure to pick out their new CD "We're in like Sin." Alex (formerly of Park) has definitely added a lot to this band on guitar!

    NPR is proud to announce our affiliation with what we affectionately call "Marc Debiak's Army." Marc is the general manager of Eyeball Records who has gathered a group of independent labels to work together in combating the scourge of internet pirates stealing our songs. This basically entails contacting bloggers who have so kindly put links to illegally download dozens of titles. While some may believe it helps the band to spread their music in this way, hurting the label will only hurt the band, as most do not have the funds to properly record and promote their own music. We, as independent labels, are hit hardest as most of our companies are run by one or two people without any kind of salary (i.e. all of the label earnings go back into the company), that work second and sometimes third jobs to do what we love.

    NPR recently took in Circa on the latest Alternative Press tour and they were really incredible. More bands need to include visual art in their stage performance, Circa had a video projection which added to their show. If this song is any indication of the entire new album, it is a must buy.

The second, "Outer Banks" are the long out of print and sought after "Over It" and "Hindsight 20/20" EPs, put together on one full length, re-mastered, with companion art to "Welcome to Virginia." This film shows what it is like to be young and live in an area of conflict as a punk rocker. Features great bands like Useless ID, Man Alive, Chaos Rabak, Nikmat Olalim, Punkache, Retribution and more. This film has toured North America and Europe, been in over a dozen film festivals, as well as had portions appear on PBS Frontline World and Current TV (Al Gore's new station).
