July 1, 2010 - Drag Me to Hell Tour
The Subtle Way News
The Subtle Way are heading out this week on the "Drag Me To Hell Tour" with Destruction of a Rose from Las Vegas. This tour is shaping up to be their best ever. It will be almost 6 weeks long and will hit every region of the US! As T-Sway continues to tour, they continue to grow, so make sure to see them now so you can say you knew them before they were huge. Also, as you may have heard, The Subtle Way have had a few member changes. Singer Jamie, bassist, Chad, and second guitarist, Geoff, decided they didn't want to be touring so much and have left the band--but never fear, T-Sway has found great replacements for this tour (members of Look Alive and This Awakening) and they'll be looking for new permanent members when they get home. |

The Subtle Way News
Unfortunately after many, many years and tours under his belt, singer Jamie Tahirkheli of The Subtle Way has decided to leave the band. Everyone is still friends, no drama. They have toured a lot over the past year and Jamie decided that he wasn't getting what he needed out of the experience. You can read a very nice and thorough explanation from Jamie himself here. We will all miss his intensity and signature front-flips off of the stage. |

The Subtle Way has returned from a successful tour including a few dates with Ice Nine Kills from Boston, MA and off dates with Love Hate Hero, A Hero A Fake, Winds Of Plague. The tour had it's ups and downs, but overall was the best tour T-Sway has gone on yet! This was the first tour they had physical copies of "Thus Far, The Channels Speak" so to everyone who came out to the show and bought copies of the album, a BIG thank you. Look forward to see T-Sway embark on a long summer tour with Destruction of a Rose from Las Vegas. |

The press reviews of "Thus Far, The Channels Speak" are pouring in and they are universally great! The album has received a rainfall of positive press including Alternative Press.com who gave the album a 3 out of 5 score and called it ³hook-driven and soaring² and ²Goddamn if The Subtle Way havenıt gotten themselves to stand out². UK glossy Kerrang had praise as well giving it three Kıs and saying that the band had gone from Thrice and Poison The Well comparisons to finding their own way and that they have the potential to appeal to a mainstream rock audience. On the web positive reviews have been plentiful with Killer Tours.com saying ³Keep an eye on these guys,² and The New Review.net say ³From the minute you hit the play button on your stereo, you are in for a treat. Itıs like I said, these boys seem like they were born for this. They unleash a constant wave of music that is delivered flawlessly at breakneck speeds² |

From time to time, NPR sends out the word that we are looking for new bands and this is one of those times. We're very happy with the last few releases, but are now ready to sign a few new bands, so who's ready to bring it on?! If you are in a band that makes great music, has an awesome live show, has a van, wants to tour, and understands that transforming a band into a career takes time and slow development, then send a link to seth@negativeprogression.com. |

The Subtle Way News

The Subtle Way has unfortunately lost a founding member this week. Jason Miller has decided to focus on school at UC Riverside and will be missed for his shredding guitar licks, spooky keyboard playing and energetic live performance. As it is virtually impossible to replace him with one other human, The Subtle Way are now auditioning for two new members, one guitarist and one keyboardist/light technician/electronics guru. If you think you got what it takes, go to their myspace and send the band a message. |

Not sure how many colors yet, but there will be a few. The vinyl version will be a collectors item as we are only making 250, so when The Subtle Way get big you can make a fortune on eBay. Apr 5, 2008 - We're Down For Down For The Count
General News
At loooooong last, we have signed a new band called Down For The Count from Los Angeles. D4TC has had a long relationship with NPR for the past couple years and we thought that it was the right time to team up and take this great band to pop-punk powerhouse status. These guys have toured on their own a number of times and even busted ass following Warped Tour last summer which takes endurance that most people don't have. If you believe we have an ear to find some of the best pop-punk bands around (i.e. Over It, The June Spirit, The Progress, The Goodwill, etc.), D4TC rightfully take their place in that line-up and will far exceed the success of any of our previous bands. Check em out at http://www.myspace.com/down4thecount |

The Subtle Way has consistently been ranked in the top 5 screamo bands and top 30 metal bands in California on myspace which is awesome. Keep telling your friends and let's boost those numbers even more. |

March 1, 2008 - Super Streaming
General News
In hopes of spreading the word about our back catalog, every record we have ever released is now streaming on our website (in the bands section)! Yes, you are not seeing things. And yes, this is an unprecedented thing for a label to do. We are still selling CDs at a low price and all of these tracks are for sale in digital form on iTunes, BUT we figured a good way to get people excited about our older releases was to make it extremely easy to check them out. Over the past 10 years, NPR has made an effort to put out quality releases by some of the best small bands in America and we are even told that many of these releases got people through some tough times and had a large impact on their lives. That being said, the music created by these bands deserves to live on and not fall into obscurity so please take the time to listen to a couple songs, after all, it's free. |

Deathwish News

Our friends at Deathwish Inc. have launched a brand new 108 player with 3 SCORCHING new tunes by the krishna-core legends. Rob Fish's vocals are some of the most brutal in existence. Most metal-core vocalist's don't have as much sincerity and tortuous rage in their entire bodies as Rob has in his pinky. And, the man, the myth, the legendary guitar of Vic Dicara (x-Inside Out, Shelter, Beyond, Burn) is still creating melodies that cut like a knife and riffs that pound like a sledgehammer. If you are a new jack, think The Hope Conspiracy with a bit more groove. Get pummeled. |

NPR is proud to announce our affiliation with what we affectionately call "Marc Debiak's Army." Marc is the general manager of Eyeball Records who has gathered a group of independent labels to work together in combating the scourge of internet pirates stealing our songs. This basically entails contacting bloggers who have so kindly put links to illegally download dozens of titles. While some may believe it helps the band to spread their music in this way, hurting the label will only hurt the band, as most do not have the funds to properly record and promote their own music. We, as independent labels, are hit hardest as most of our companies are run by one or two people without any kind of salary (i.e. all of the label earnings go back into the company), that work second and sometimes third jobs to do what we love. |

Apr 22, 2007 - NPR loves Circa Survive
Equal Vision News
Circa Survive has a new album called "On Letting Go" coming out on May 29th via Equal Vision Records and to celebrate, they are streaming a brand new song on their myspace called "The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose." EVR has been long admired over here and we completely support their efforts to break rad new bands into the public eye. NPR recently took in Circa on the latest Alternative Press tour and they were really incredible. More bands need to include visual art in their stage performance, Circa had a video projection which added to their show. If this song is any indication of the entire new album, it is a must buy. |

Our friends over at Lobster Records have a new record coming out by a great Northern California band called First to Leave. If you are a fan of Lifetime, the Movielife, Jawbreaker, or Samiam, you will love this album. It was recorded and produced by the amazing J. Robbins (x-Channels, Burning Airlines, Jawbox, Government Issue) so the quality is stellar. It is currently streaming in full at our favorite webzine Pastepunk.com!
